Head of IT

Princess Yachts is seeking an experienced Head of IT to shape and drive our technology strategy, delivering innovative solutions that support our design, engineering, production, and wider business functions. This a unique opportunity to lead digital transformation at one of the world’s most prestigious luxury yacht brands.

About the Role:

On site full time (4.5 days per week, 39 hours)

The Head of IT will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s IT strategy, overseeing all technology-related activities within Princess Yachts. This leadership role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on management, ensuring IT systems underpin design, engineering, production and all support functions within the company. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring data security and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Responsibilities/ tasks:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with Princess Yachts’ overall business objectives.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and projects to enhance operational efficiency, innovation to drive growth and profitability.

Technology Oversight

  • Design, implement and manage the full lifecycle of IT systems including infrastructure, applications, networks and cybersecurity to ensure the most suitable and affordable solutions are proposed and implemented.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve business processes.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of enterprise IT systems.
  • Remain up to date with emerging technologies and trends assessing the value to Princess Yachts.
  • Ensure IT users of applications and technology are supported cost-effectively and to the needs of the business.

Governance & Compliance

  • Establish IT policies, standards, and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with the Legal Department on business efforts to ensure compliance with data protection laws.
  • Oversee IT related risk management, disaster recovery planning and assist in Business Continuity Planning.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of multidisciplined IT professionals, motivating them and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop IT talent and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, maintain and manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
  • Work with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand their needs and develop priorities for new initiatives and manage a programme of projects to deliver them.
  • Be a role model leading by example to manage significant business change related to technology implementations.
  • Report regularly on the progress of a large programme of information systems initiatives and projects.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Proven track record in a senior IT leadership role (Head of IT, IT Director, CIO).
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale IT projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with commercial awareness and the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with data protection, compliance, and relevant industry standards

Desirable:

  • Experience in the marine industry or other manufacturing environments.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP, or equivalent).
  • Evidence of leading digital transformation or innovation initiatives.
