PTC Instructor - Engineering & Compliance

Job description

Main Purpose of Role:

This is a multi-skilled instructor role, combining both engineering and compliance to design and deliver targeted training programs that enhance technical expertise, legal compliance, workforce development, safe working practices, and industry regulatory standards.

The role sits within the wider People, Talent & Culture team who deliver all of the people processes across Princess Yachts including payroll, recruitment, wellbeing, all ER matters, apprenticeships, technical training, learning and development, performance, and talent management.

Candidate must be flexible, proactive and supportive.

Responsibilities/ tasks:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and deliver training initiatives, aligned with business strategies and departmental charters, underpinned by SQCDP.
  • Design and deliver training, working within the structure of the ‘training cycle model’
  • Apply a broad range of technical and compliance expertise alongside diverse learning and facilitation methods to effectively guide training delivery.
  • Have the confidence and ability to deliver training on-the-job, off-the-job, or through remote learning platforms.
  • Design learning sessions to meet the specified aims and objectives of the training and the differentiated needs of learners.
  • Design, develop and maintain relevant supporting resources, that enhance the learning and engage the learner(s).
  • Deliver training using a range of learning methodologies ensuring learners are managed, motivated, coached and supported to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
  • Foster and maintain a safe, inclusive and effective environment to enable learner engagement and participation, and overcome potential barriers to learning.
  • Conduct learner assessments, using the specified assessment strategy, to evaluate and record outcomes. Analyse assessment results and, where relevant, support development plans to ensure that individuals achieve the intended learning outcomes.
  • Provide Technical and Compliance training assurance across multiple sites and varying shift patterns.
  • Guide adult learners, apprentices, and young people through our learning programs and workplace experiences, using teaching, mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Conduct safety audits of training facilities, equipment, products and tooling.
  • Ensure training documents are completed and stored on completion of any programmes/courses.

Person Specification:

  • 3+ years of Engineering experience (Mechanical and Electrical)
  • Marine industry experience with knowledge of Aircon is desirable.
  • Experience of operating compliance equipment safely and to industry standards is desirable.
  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) standards, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
  • A passion for training and helping others learn.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills.
  • Positive attitude towards change.
  • Flexibility to work across all sites and support various shift patterns.
  • Customer focused and the ability to work with stakeholders’ business wide.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately, with confidential information.
  • Desire to work towards teaching qualifications and accreditation.
