Main Purpose of the Role:
To oversee and manage the maintenance of company buildings, ensuring all facilities and equipment used by operational teams across multiple sites are fully functional and well-maintained. This role is responsible for leading the Facilities function and coordinating with both internal operations teams and external contractors to ensure effective service delivery across all locations.
Responsibilities / Tasks:
Oversee and ensure timely completion of building and facilities maintenance, including reactive repairs.
Manage equipment maintenance, coordinating and supervising external contractors as required.
Ensure all personnel and contractors operate safely on site, working with the Facilities team to improve contractor control and compliance.
Monitor and report on equipment performance and availability, providing feedback and analysis to the Facilities team.
Manage day-to-day equipment-related issues in collaboration with Operations, helping to define priorities and coordinate planned maintenance shutdowns.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance routines in conjunction with the Facilities Management team.
Support the Engineering team during new equipment installations, including contractor co-ordination and management.
Oversee waste management processes and ensure contractor activities are in line with company standards and regulations.
Respond to emergencies and call-outs as part of the on-call rota, following established escalation procedures.
Coordinate and obtain quotes from subcontractors, supporting the Facilities team with CAPEX/OPEX planning and budgeting.
Act as deputy for the Facilities Manager during periods of absence due to holiday or sickness.
Take ownership of designated work streams aligned with your qualifications and experience, promoting best practices and strong supplier relationships within those areas.

Person Specification:
Proven experience in supervising contractors and managing third-party service providers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiar with CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) systems.
Strong communicator with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally within a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production, or manufacturing environment.
Results-driven with strong organisational and time management skills.
Capable of performing effectively under pressure within a cross-functional team environment.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
IOSH qualification desirable.
