Standard days: Monday - Thursday
Standard hours: 07:00 - 17:00
Main purpose of role:
We are looking for a skilled Assemblers to join our team in the production of our high-quality yachts. This role involves assembling major mould and canopy components internally and externally on the boat.
Main responsibilities:
• Levelling of boats to required specifications.
• Assembly of GRP and wooden components, including cutting where necessary (e.g., bulkheads, transoms).
• Structural bonding of joints to a high standard of finish and integrity.
• Fitting of trays, steelwork, frames, transport support frames, and other GRP components.
• Installation of critical components such as fuel tanks, galley high beams, bathing platforms and hydraulic systems
• Mechanical lifting of major boat components using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Completion and sign-off of boat files to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Fitting of teak decking and related finishing work.
• Glass fitting (canopies)
• Participation in development work as required by the team or projects.
• Mentorship of junior or lower-grade employees, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Apply relevant sealants
Knowledge and experience:
• Proven experience (minimum 12 months) in a similar boatbuilding, marine, or assembly role.
• NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in carpentry / marine engineering/ composite moulding would be beneficial
• Proficient in working with GRP, timber, and composite materials.
• Ability to follow straight forward information from work Instructions/drawings which give detailed methods of assembly
• Ensure work is completed to company quality standards and within project deadlines.
